Save Our Lake Organization of Lake Norman NC Goals
SOLO (which stands for Save Our Lake) of Lake Norman is a non-profit environmental and wildlife conservation organization established to preserve the quality of water and environment of Lake Norman, North Carolina, and provide protected
waterfowl rescue, rehabilitation, and habitats. We need volunteers to help continue our efforts to preserve Lake Norman and the Catawaba River Basin, and support wildlife rehabilitation.
The Catawaba River has been designated as America's #1 Endangered River. We need your help to clean and preserver our environment.
Our October 4th 2008 Lake Norman Big Sweep clean up was a HUGE success. Here are the results:

Wildlife abounds here on Lake Norman. We enjoy an abundance of birds ranging from the great blue heron to several species of song birds, ducks and geese. You often see the playful chipmunks, squirrels and rabbits as well as an occasional deer.
Lake Norman provides a wonderful array of fish. Whether young or retired, the fishing at Lake Norman has always yielded a day of fun as well as some exciting catches. Keeping our lake healthy ensures future generations enjoyment of bass tournaments, boating, skiing, and swimming, not to mention the necessary good quality drinking water it provides.
